This postcard was put under my door directly by Petra. It was a farewell, because we couldn't see each other for the last time before she is leaving Indonesia to go back to Slovenia. I found it very sweet of her to do this. I surely hope to see her again!
Brief explanation of the card, it shows the Werkudara in Wayang performance. Wayang is a Javanese word for particular kinds of theatre. When the term is used to refer to kinds of puppet theatre, sometimes the puppet itself is referred to as wayang. In the Hindu epic Mahabharata, Bhima, also called Vrikodara (in Javanese: Werkudara), is the second of the Pandawa brothers. He is one of the central characters and is symbolic of great strength.
