Venezia, Italy.

So, I'm having this app called LevelUpLife on my phone to "level up" myself IRL. The app is like a list of activities you can do and once you done an activity, you'll get an achievement. Each achievement got XP points and collecting this XP points is how you level up. People can comment on your achievements and stuff so I started adding people to make it more interesting and to get to know them.

One of my friends on this app is Marlene, or as her username Lithium_for_Life. When she posted about her plan to travel to Firenze, Italy, I commented on her achievement and she offered to send me a postcard from there. I, of course, won't refuse a chance of getting a postcard :D We then exchanged e-mail because I wanted to send her a card in return.

After waiting for a while, I received a card from her. But to my surprise, it wasn't a card from Firenze, but Venezia. What. A. Nice. Surprise! She sent a postcard from another town she visited as well :D How nice of her. Anyway, the card shows the facade of Saint Mark's Basilica. Here is how the card looks:

Germany, Ravenclaw.

Another postcard from Demetra. This is the one that supposedly arrive in the same time with the Sherlock postcard. The card shows Ravenclaw House of Hogwarts. I like how it looks like a graffiti :] She has also other houses, but I chose this one because I belong to Ravenclaw, obviously :D However, recently I re-register to Pottermore and they put me in Gryffindor.

Stamps

Lithuania, In the Life.

This is also a postcard I got from Facebook group swap. I actually don't know what the postcard showing, since the sender didn't write anything about it nor there is any info on the back. There was writing in Russian: Дмитрий Солунский в житии, XVI в, which based on Google Translate means Dmitry Solunsky in the Life, in XVI. And I suppose it is an old card because I also see "Москва, 1978" on the side.

Stamps

Again, a clear postmark :]

Germany, Sherlock 221B.

The postcard shows Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. And the famous 221B Baker St. door sign. I got it from a Facebook group for swapping the DW cards. Demetra is the sender, and we actually swapped 2 cards written and stamped, but only this one arrived at the moment.

One of my favourites that I've received this year :D I like this kind of illustration with watercolour. Though it might be done digitally, I still like how it looks^^

Stamps

Clear postmark :]

Helsinki, Finland.

A postcard from Anne. She lives in Finland and also a penpal of mine. We've sent postcards back and forth multiple times :)

Stamps

I wonder why the stamps got no cancellation stamp on it.

Amsterdam, Netherlands.

This postcard is from Suza. She works as a flight attendant, and actually this is the first postcard she ever sent :D She has never sent a postcard before. She wrote that maybe she will start collecting as well. This is such a pleasure for me to introduce the world of snail mailing to someone!

Stamp

It has clear postmark :)

Lyon, France.

Another postcard from Kati. She was travelling to Germany, Switzerland, and France. The card shows Lyon at night. Belle ville :)

Stamp

Göteborg, Sweden.

Hälsning från Göteborg.
Greetings from Gothenburg.

This is a card from my penpal Kati. She lives in Denmark, and we've been penpal since 2014 maybe, if I remember correctly. She often sends me postcard when she travels too. On this postcard she wrote that she thinks about me. It makes me really happy to know that I'm on her mind ^^

Stamp

I really like this red deer stamp :)

Netherlands, An Envelope of Cards.

I'm such a lazy person.

Basically after my last post in 2016, I was still receiving postcards from time to time in my new address. But somehow I didn't have any willingness to upload and post them here. Fast forward to 2017, I'm getting more postcards and mails. So I put them together on my desk in hope that I would take a bit time to upload them. Still no willingness lol. Until earlier this week I was telling my classmates that I have a blog about my postcards and I thought this is the time to start posting them again XD

A couple months ago I posted a swap offer on Postcrossing group on Facebook. I have bunch of Doctor Who postcards so I thought of keeping a couple and the rest are up for swapping. I still have several DW cards that are available for swap, in case you want to swap too :D Anyway, I swapped 3 cards in an envelope with this lady because her son loves Doctor Who. So what you can see here is the cards I got from her.

The first card is this awesome mammoth.

The second card is this one with cats. They remind me of my cats:)

The third one is this vintage looking American poster.

Russia: Gorky III, Sochi, Volgograd.

Yes, you read the title correctly.

I'm posting 3 postcards all in one post. It's actually a continuation from the last post back in 2013: U.S.A., Texas Icons. Here are the postcards next in line to be uploaded. I found a folder of postcards photos before all my postcards queue was messed up by this guy. So, eventho it is a little odd to upload postcards I received in 2013, I'll start uploading from there.

These 3 postcards were sent to me by Stas and each one was in an envelope.

Gorky city view.

Stamps on its envelope.

Sochi.

Stamps on Sochi's envelope.

Volgograd city view.

The stamps on its envelope. It looks slightly similar to the previous ones, you might think it's from the same envelope. But take a closer look if you want :]

A Couple Months After the First Post in 2016

Turned out I'm not as consistent as I hope I would. Oh well..

Hello again.

Back in March I wrote that I'll update the blog with postcards and snail mails I receive, but it's been a while that my mailbox is lonely. Nothing came.

However, there's been a turn of an event. Here is the update :D

In the last week I got 3 postcards and a notification letter from post office. The notification letter is something they usually send to you instead of the parcel/package because you need to pay for some custom-thingy fee, so you need to go to the post office to fetch your parcel/package.

There is a postcard which my sister sent from Japan. It took a hella long time. She was in Japan in April, but I got her postcard last week. Plus from all of the postcards she sent, only one reached me safe and sound. I'm raising my eyebrow and sceptically looking at you, Indonesian Postal Service. Here's how the postcard from her looks like:

A shaped postcard known as gotochi.

The stamp.

Another one is a postcard I won in a giveaway on Facebook's Postcrossing group. I forgot when the giveaway was, but the postcard had arrived a couple days after my sister's postcard :) Here it is:

Giveway postcard which shown a red Vespa.

The stamp and cancellation postmark.

Last but not least, a postcard from Matte when he was on a holiday with his family in Wrocław. Such a nice city, I myself have been there 4 years ago, it was lovely. The postcard shows Wrocław's famous dwarfs that can be found around the city. Here's how it looks:

Multiview postcard showing many Wrocław's dwarfs.

Apparently, the postcard was sent from Gdynia.

I think that's all of the update for today. I'll write about the notification letter from the Indonesian Postal Service in another post. It's a long story about that.

After A Long Hiatus D:

Hello world!

Hello again!

2016! Whoa, I didn't write for almost 3 years!

There was an event back in 2013 that made me stop writing/updating this blog. I still do receive and send postcards and letter occasionally though. However, I just keep them in my postcard box instead of putting them here on this blog like I used to do. I guess it's only fair to write on this blog what happened on 2013.

So I was part of Indonesian Postcrossing Community back then and I was quite involved in a sense of coming to the meetup, participating in Giveaway and organising one in return. However, there was one meetup where the people were talking about making a postcard exhibition and the next meetup we would come with our postcard collection to choose the postcards that will appear in the exhibition. I came with my postcard box. I organised my postcards by the time I receive them and at that time, not all postcards were up on this blog. I left my postcard box there with the people while I went to order beverage and when I was back..... errrr there is this guy messing my postcards out of the box D: I didn't remember which arrived when and yeah... my postcards were organised no longer :( UNTIL NOW. It is not organised still. Well, yeah, that is the reason why I never updated this blog.

But it will change.

It changes now, with this post I'm writing here. I will start updating the postcards and letters I receive again. The system of postcard uploading might be different because of several reasons, but my blog will not be "dead" like before anyway.

I'm hoping to be consistent from now on.
*crossing my fingers and toes*

Oh and I probably write about my life here too, so this blog isn't limited to postcards only. But I'm not hundred percent sure about that. Let's see how it all goes..

Have a great day!

A.

U.S.A., Texas Icons.

The postcard Arnold sent me is showing the Texas icons such as Cowboys and Armadillo.

Stamps.

Portugal, Celorico da Beira.

Castelo de Celorico da Beira is a castle in Portugal that is also a National Monument. This postcard was sent by Maria. She's a great artist, I like how she "decorated" the card :) Really really nice!

Stamp.

Bremen, Germany.

A postcard I got from my snail mail penpal Kati. She was on vacation in Germany and sent me one card from Bremen. This was totally surprise - I didn't ask her to send me postcard. Was so nice of her to do so^^

Stamp.

Taiwan, Delicious Foods III.

Another postcard showing Taiwan's Foods. As a foodie, this is one of my favourite postcards. I just love cards that showing foods, it makes me hungry xD On the postcard there's also the iconic Taiwan's black bear holding bubble tea.

Stamps.

Germany, Aquarelle Speyer.

Told Alice to send me a surprise postcard from where she lives and she sent me this postcard of Speyer. The aquarelle painting of this city is really nice and I like it^^
